Hello, I am Takuya Sato, the chief researcher at insightis. For over a quarter of a century, I have been involved in ERP, SaaS, infrastructure, and BPO businesses both domestically and internationally. Throughout my career, I have held a deep interest in process management. In 2023, I became the first Japanese individual to obtain the Process Excellence Certification from APQC (American Productivity & Quality Center) headquarters in Houston. Researching information on process management from both domestic and international perspectives has been a lifelong pursuit for me.
Business processes can be compared to the vascular system of a company. Just as blood vessels deliver oxygen to and remove carbon dioxide from every part of the body, business processes can either invigorate or stagnate an organization and its employees. Western companies often regard business processes as a critical management strategy. Successful companies design, implement, and operate processes using theories, frameworks, and benchmarking, regularly assess their maturity, and conduct BPR (Business Process Reengineering) when they become outdated. This comprehensive approach contrasts with the tendency of Japanese companies to leave process improvement to on-site staff as KAIZEN, sometimes at the expense of executive oversight.
As we enter a period of significant transformation in business processes driven by technological advancements, I have established the Process Excellence information community site “insightis” to share information about business processes from both domestic and international perspectives. The term “insight” translates to “洞察(dosatsu)” or “知見(chiken)” in Japanese, and achieving Process Excellence requires digitalizing organizational and individual insights as Knowledge Management and leveraging these insights through AI.
Through this site, I aim to provide a wide range of information that will offer insights and knowledge to those working on Process Excellence every day. Let’s learn and exchange the dynamism of process management, together.
Sincerely,
Takuya Sato
